I’ve been employed long enough that I couldn’t emphasize enough the importance of giving a proper send off to employees leaving the organisation.
A lot of people write about the importance of onboarding and industry best practices for retaining talents but how many are keen to even talk about offboarding?
For surviving members, first of all we should accept that our brother-in-arms leaving is part of a process for the individual and the organization to grow.
Thus we need to celebrate and at the same time reflect on what are the activities we did right and which ones that we can do better at next time we hire.
The Arif I know was timid in the beginning, not so much of a talker and careful. As months go by he starts to open up, developing relationships and trusting the team – he became one of us.
I hope he finds the new place as welcoming as us (or better) and encounter opportunities to grow his skills and knowledge professionally.
Au revoir, MFR
