I sprained my left ankle in 2018 to and then a herniated disc L5-S1 in 2020 limited me temporarily external and physical activities for a while. The phantom pain comes back every once a while but nothing serious, go out for a walk or hike to stretch those muscles and skeleton and it goes away.
I also learned that serious stretching exercises or calisthenics benefits the body as well as weight training for strength. That’s why the few first days in my new assignment I introduced morning routine to the office members to do warm up stretches everyday before starting work – they enjoyed it too.
I got the most junior members to lead the warm up sessions to let them standout as a routine activity to familiarize themselves with the team. Because daily work already busy, this is the only time they gather and take the chance to interact with each other. Like the water cooler machine concept where great ideas generated over small talk.
I’m thinking to introduce the next weekly routine soon, I’ll share here once it becomes solid.
