These few weekends I am working on the exterior of the house, paint job for the gate and walls, grass for the yard, this is also an opportunity to involve the children to introduce preparation, planning, execution and risk mitigation put in simple terms they able to understand.

Risk mitigation includes explaining why we need to move the cars to ensure when the grass is cut no flying small rocks hit then and why the floor needs to be laid with canvass to avoid paint drippings from the gate.

Planning includes explaning the logical sequence and timing to clear the area, go shop for supplies, scrape the old paint from the gate, sand paper, lay canvas, paint and start early so we don’t have to less time painting under hot sun.

Execution includes how many children assigned for a task, job rotation when they’re starting to feel tired painting, sweeping and bringing out the baby on a stroller when she get’s cranky as well as calling it a day once the drizzle of rain 🌧️ worsens.

Consideration taken working with children are their competency, capability and capacity in balance with their psyche to avoid them giving up too early before able to learn any lessons intended.

The weather does not cooperate so we’ll need to continue after 6pm weekdays or the following weekends, wish us luck.

Cheers 🥂 MFR
