You have more time than you think is a book by author Laura Vanderkam which lists many lessons about time management.
I got my hard cover copy during one of the earliest Bid Bad Wolf book sale in Johor Bahru years before I joined Emerson.
Among the lessons I still benefit until today are:
⭐️ plan your schedule in blocks of 20, 25 or 30 minutes, she provided that Pomodoro 🍅 timer example
⭐️ if you can weigh the cost-benefit, better to outsource the routine processes to professionals for example cooking, laundry, cleaning, gardening.
⭐️ whe tidying up our house areas, ensure the surfaces are clear from clutter and the rest are easy to deal with.
Some time management tips I picked up along the way are:
💡timeboxing, it means plan and protect your time to do only the items you need to be doing. Explain to others why you need it, go somewhere secluded if you have to – example – I have my signage up on my desk when the needs arise.
💡 RSVP, using your favorite app it could be Monday, Trello, Outlook or any productivity in teams applications your organisation might be using. Check in with your critical members when they haven’t responded – ask why?
💡 schedule rest time, you’ll need enough sleep and breaks especially during peak busy workweeks. Working while you eat lunch can be seem productive but you might notice the effects over the long term. Your mind and body need breaks, embrace it.
I gotta go, I’ll write more soon.
