First and foremost I would like to thank an anonymous post I couldn’t remember but kept showing up on my socials feed on cutting down sugars intake. I couldn’t do it without them, although it took that many years scrolling I finally able to quit the instant coffee machine.
Secondly, I don’t have anything against instant coffee machines – in fact I had them installed in my last company around eleven years ago and helped troubleshoot the current unit whenever it needs to. It’s a necessity at the pantry.
3 in 1 coffee sachets or machine, contains high sugar and hydrogenated fat which provides short bursts of energy but does not help me lose weight. On average, I’m drawing three to four times a day – twelve ounces per cup just to keep myself caffeinated.
Here’s how I did it:
☕️ replace my favorite mug with a clear glass or tumbler or any liquid container which normally people don’t put in coffee.
☕️ drink only plain water from the cooler.
☕️ go for a short walk whenever I’m losing focus or dozing off
☕️ survive one day and celebrate, then the next
☕️ set a time for coffee, for me its on weekends but fresh beans 🫘 ground and pressed.
The first week quitting is the hardest, I had constant headaches but not severe – only sleep can help numb the pain. Slowly the headaches subsided and I start to notice the benefits of quitting, it became a reinforcing element help to perpetuate the change.
I hope this helps if you are on the same journey, quitting 3 in 1 instant coffee – machine or sachet wise.
Cheers 🥂 MFR
